Our mission
To create neighborhood guides that help people find what they need, when they need it — and help strong local businesses become the ones they find.
Why we exist
People do not look for advertisements. They look for what they need, when they need it.
Traditional direct mail often puts unrelated businesses together and asks residents to sort through the noise. Bloc Card takes a different approach.
Each Bloc Card begins with something a resident is trying to do, improve, enjoy, maintain, or solve. We then thoughtfully assemble a small group of complementary local businesses around that purpose.
Our vision
We want Bloc Card to become something residents recognize, keep, and look forward to receiving — while giving local businesses a more useful and intentional way to reach the communities they serve.
How we build
Every Bloc Card follows the same principles.
Begin with the resident
Every Bloc Card starts with something a resident is trying to accomplish — not with a list of businesses we need to sell.
Curate with purpose
We bring together businesses that make sense beside one another. Each one should strengthen the usefulness of the whole Bloc Card.
Feature fewer businesses
A Bloc Card is not designed to hold as many advertisements as possible. Fewer businesses means more space, more attention, and a clearer experience.
Protect each business’s role
We do not place direct competitors together. Each featured business should have a clear and distinct place within the Bloc Card.
Make it worth keeping
The standard is not whether a Bloc Card can be mailed. The standard is whether it earns attention and gives residents a reason to hold onto it.
Extend the experience
Each printed Bloc Card includes a digital companion so residents can continue exploring and businesses can better understand engagement.
What businesses can expect
Thoughtful participation, not just placement.
Honest about fit
Not every Bloc Card will be right for every business. We would rather recommend the right opportunity — or no opportunity — than force a weak fit.
Clear about the audience
Each Bloc Card is defined by where it will be mailed. Businesses do not need to be located there, but they should genuinely serve the households receiving it.
Transparent about price
Businesses should understand the investment before committing. No surprise charges, hidden renewals, or promises we cannot honestly support.
Carefully prepared
Each featured business should receive a presentation that feels intentional, clear, and consistent with the quality of the Bloc Card as a whole.
Become part of a Bloc Card
Be what residents find when they need it.
